This is also true when you look at how overall sales were standing at the end of 2019, before any of the current issues came along. This does not include wines that are normally shown at the official Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux (UGCB) tasting; the group is holding back until it is once more safe to organise collective tastings. This gives the barrel samples a chance to settle. âMost people agree 2019 is a seriously good vintage,â says Christian Seely, the managing director of AXA Millesimes, which owns several Bordeaux chateaux.
